There, his life of adventure and intrigue began. Within a year, Bowles was dishonorably discharged from British service, accused of insubordination. He then spent the next few years living among the Lower Creek, whom he claimed adopted him. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eAfter the American Revolution, Bowles attempted to place himself as a central intermediary between the British and Creek nations. He launched regular assaults and Spanish Florida, both at land and sea. But his list of enemies grew. In 1803, a group of Upper Creek leaders captured the elusive Aventurero and delivered him to Spanish officials in New Orleans.
